About Northeast Tri County Health District

Our Mission: Northeast Tri County Health District works with other entities to assess, protect, preserve, and promote the health of the tri county area and establishes local policy relating to population based services in Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties.


Board of Health

The Board of Health of Northeast Tri County Health District is the governing body of the Health District. The nine (9) member Board of Health includes two (2) county commissioners and one elected official representing a city/town in Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties. 

The primary purpose of the Board of Health is to: 

  • Serve the cities and counties of Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens as a local government public agency in a united, cooperative effort to assess, protect, preserve, and promote public health within its jurisdiction in accordance with Chapter 70.46, Revised Code of Washington
  • Meet State of Washington mandated disease prevention and health promotion services
  • Work with partners locally and statewide to improve health
  • Create and promote prudent public health policy within its jurisdiction
  • Facilitate coordination efforts aimed at community-wide population health improvement strategies
