New Schools & Remodels

Every new proposed school will need to apply for a plan review with the Health District to ensure that it will be built per the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 246-366. Similarly, any remodel of a public or private school will require a plan review so that safety standards will be met.

Other jurisdictional agencies may need to approve the school's site and plans. These agencies may include:

  • Building Department
  • Labor and Industries
  • Zoning and Planning

Once the school is build or remodeled, Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD) inspectors will conduct a thorough pre-operating inspection on-site to verify that the school was built or remodeled according to the approved plans.
