COMMUNICABLE DISEASE INVESTIGATION:  Investigation of reported communicable diseases

FOOD SANITATION: Licensing and inspections of retail food establishments; plan review of new and remodeled establishments; issuance of Food and Beverage Workers Permits

LIQUID WASTE DISPOSAL: Plan review, site and final inspection of on-site systems; technical assistance to homeowners, licensing of all installers and pumpers, review of proposed subdivisions

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:  Review plans and inspect school facilities, public swimming pools and spas

OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Investigate complaints of chemical and physical hazards; technical assistance in vector control, clandestine drug labs

SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL: Permitting and inspection of all solid waste handling facilities, respond to complaints, work  with counties on solid waste management planning

VECTOR CONTROL: Response to illness reports, complaints or direct requests for information or assistance concerning insects, rodents and other vectors

WATER: Coordinate approval of new water systems with county plat procedures; provide technical assistance to public and private water systems; assist Washington State Department of Health in monitoring and surveying public water systems.   For certified water testing follow the link to the Washington State Department of Ecology for a list of accredited labs.
